Laying out a food label that is clear and complete
A food label must catch the eye and show the information consumers and regulations require. This article explains how to order label information so it looks good and reads easily, with checks to make before printing.

The front says what it is in one second
The front of the label should show the brand, the product name and the flavour or key benefit clearly from shelf distance. Customers decide to pick something up within seconds, and too much text on the front buries the important information, so move other details to the back or side.
Required information must be legible
Food products in Thailand have label requirements such as the Thai FDA registration number, ingredients, production or expiry dates and manufacturer details, which vary by food type. Check the latest Thai FDA announcements before printing and use a type size people can actually read.
Test-print on the real material
Colours on a computer screen often differ from those printed on clear stickers, kraft paper or cans. Order a sample and apply it to the real container, then check that small text is still readable, the barcode scans and the label does not wrinkle on curved surfaces before a large print run.
