The command position for the desk
A well-known idea is to place the desk so you can see the door without sitting directly in line with it, with a solid wall behind you like a backrest. This position is believed to give stability and a sense of control. In practice it also stops you being disturbed by people passing behind you.
Order keeps energy moving
Feng Shui sees clutter as blocking energy. A desk holding only what you use daily, with tidy cables and documents filed by category, helps both energy and thinking flow better. Try spending five minutes before you finish work setting the desk up for the next day.
Add natural elements in moderation
Small plants, natural light and colours linked to your personal element make a workspace feel alive, but not to the point of clutter. Avoid plants you cannot care for, since wilting plants are believed to have the opposite effect. Choose easy-care varieties that suit the light in the room.
