How packaging surfaces change a brand’s impression

The impression begins before reading

Matte and glossy boxes can convey different impressions with identical artwork. Choose materials based on the product’s personality, handling and sales environment. A mockup cannot convey the actual feel, so do not judge from images alone.

Use finishing techniques to create focus

Embossing, foil and spot coatings suit selected focal elements. When combining techniques, check that the emphasis stays clear and costs remain within budget. Send detail sizes to the factory for feasibility review before approving the design.

Consider repeated use

Check resistance to scuffs, opening and closing, and transport suitability for the actual product. Request samples and test them before a large order. Attractive packaging should still protect the product and be easy to handle.
