Start with the product and sales method
Specify product type, dimensions, weight and sales channels, along with shipping or shelf display. These details help select a suitable structure before graphic styling.
Get the structure from the producer
Use dimensions and dielines confirmed with the factory. Tell the design team about materials, printing, folds and glue areas so text is not placed where it will be cut or covered.
Prepare reviewed copy
Collect product names, details, instructions and required information. Have the responsible person check wording and applicable requirements before layout. Design does not replace legal label review.
Check mockups and physical samples
Mockups help show layout, but assess colour, material and texture using actual production samples. Check every side and opening experience before approving a large run.
