Positioning the owner's or manager's desk in the office
In Feng Shui, the decision-maker's desk is seen as the heart of the business. This article explains the principle known as the command position and how to apply it in a small office or back room.

See the door without sitting in line with it
The ideal spot is diagonal from the door, where you can see who comes and goes without turning around, but not directly in line with the door's opening. That line is believed to bring energy rushing in too strongly, and in practice it is noisier with more foot traffic.
Have solid support behind you
A solid wall behind you is likened to a supporting mountain. If you must sit with your back to a window or walkway, use a low cabinet, bookshelf or high-backed chair instead, and avoid hanging objects or beams directly above your seat.
A tidy desk reflects clear decisions
Tall stacks of unfinished paperwork are believed to keep matters stuck. Clear away completed work and keep open space in front of you for thinking. The left side suits slightly taller items such as a lamp or plant, following the idea that the green dragon should sit higher than the white tiger on the right.
Adapt the ideas to your actual space
A small back office may not allow every principle. Prioritise the most important ones: seeing the entrance and having support behind you. The HUANGJUI Design team can plan a layout matched to the owner's element and directions while keeping work genuinely convenient.
